If you look good, you feel good, and if you feel good, you do good. —Georges St-Pierre
From the twists and flips to landing just right, the US women’s gymnastics team looked fabulous. If there was a fashion execution score, their leotards would rank perfect in my book.
Fashion and style always plays a big part. GK Elite designed various leotards for the USA team to compete in. From the unique name of each design, to the 47,000 Swarovski crystals that were used, I loved it all. Each gymnast looked beautiful and transformed the balance beam into a runway.
Since they don’t give out medals for design, I decided to rank my top five USA leotards. Jeanne Diaz, Design Director of GK Elite walks us through the inspiration behind each look.
Here are my top leotards ranked from my most favorite.
1) Star Spangled Shine
With a stunning amount of 6,359 Swarovski crystals, this leotard shines through all of the others as my top design. From the velvet touches to the bedazzled collar, this look feels lush. I love how precise the crystals are to give the exact sharp edges to the stars. This piece deserves to win the gold.

2) Go For Glory
Team USA absolutely went for the glory and showed the world how talented they are! These leotards are so crisp and sharp. The inspiration behind this look was an Olympian draped in an American flag. This was the perfect look with Simone Biles and her team winning.

3) Luminous Legacy
Just like Simone Biles, this look is very impressive. Using Light Siam crystals, GK Elite was able to create a luminous look. These crystals can look red, white or blue depending on the light. I would say the crystals are pretty patriotic!

4) Sovereign Sparkle
Bang! Pop! Crackle! I love how the crystals are arranged to look like fireworks display. Suni Lee sparkled on the balance beam.

5) USA Elegance
Inspired by the games taking place in Paris, Jeanne and her team designed a leotard with grace. Combining a classic French and American style, we can see a lace pattern throughout the design.

If you’d like to see these designs in person, head over to the Swarovski on Fifth Avenue in New York City. The display will be open till August 11th. Go Team USA!
