Want to know what it’s like to model for Couture Fashion Week? Model Maanami Naomi shares her fashion experience at New York Fashion Week’s Couture Fashion Week with us. Watch and find out what she really thinks!
Just wait for it! At the end of the video, you’ll get to see the elegant black dress that Maanami modeled for which was designed by fashion designer Azulant Akora. ❤
Hats? Gloves? Scarves? Oh my! So far, this week has been absolutely freezing in New York. If you’re braving the winter like me, I hope you’re staying warm! Yesterday, I stopped off at the mall just to buy more leggings so that I would be ready for today.
Not only has it been extremely cold, it’s been a pretty quiet week here in the city. Honestly, I think it’s the perfect time to check out all of the holiday decorations without trying to squeeze though the massive crowds. I love walking down 5th Avenue and looking at all the decorations. Every year I try to visit the tree at Rockerfeller Center and watch Sak Fifth Avenue’s light show. This year, I’m planning to go downtown and visit the Holiday Market at the Oculus – hopefully before it’s over on January 7th!
In celebration of the holiday season, model Joi Simoné shared her holiday wish list with us. Personally, I really like her wish list since it includes things she wants for herself, things that she wants for others and goals that she set for herself.
Joi’s Holiday Wish List:
1.) World peace – I would like for the world to be less chaotic – meaning less war and more love.
2.) Art supplies – I love to have more art supplies so I can create abstract, murals and other paintings during my free time.
3.) Traveling – I want to visit Paris and Rome to learn about the culture, history and to eat great food.
4) Modeling– I would love to walk on the runway for many designers such as Donatella Versace, Giorgio Armani, Roberto Capucci, Alberta Ferretti, Giuseppe Zanotti, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Coco Chanel, Christian Louboutin, Pierre Balmain, Adeline André, and Haider Ackermann.

Did you ever wonder what it’s like to celebrate the holidays in Australia? While it’s usually cold and snowy here in New York, it’s usually warm and sunny in Australia! Model Claudine Henningsen shared what she loves about the holiday and how she celebrates them.
How to celebrate the holidays Claudine style…
So… in Australia, it’s summer during the holidays! For us here it’s all about the sun, going to the beach, surfing, and catching with friends and family. For me personally, the festive feeling and the buzz of Christmas really starts with our yearly family Christmas Carols in the Park. It’s an amazing evening with loads of singing, live performances, awesome food trucks and huge fireworks.
Setting up the Christmas tree is also a really special tradition where my Mum, Dad, my brother Gabriel and I (even our dog Holly and cat Yoda), dance around the tree, sing, be silly and decorate the tree!
I love to spend the holiday time catching up with my brother, hanging out with friends, having sleepovers, and going shopping. I also love heading to the beach and pools, going to the movies, trampolining, being with my pets and spending “girl time” with my Mum.
New Years is usually a big group celebration. Sometimes we head to the country or go up north to Brisbane to visit my Aunty, Uncle and cousins.
There are plenty of lazy days in there for just relaxing, playing board games, reading and watching TV. I enjoy our hot, balmy barbecue evenings and our morning sleep-ins.

It was almost 11:00pm and everyone was getting ready to go home from the Unique Blend Models fashion show. It was such a long day but I didn’t want to leave without speaking with model Marcus Killebrew. So there I was sitting in the lobby with Marcus while he opened up about his modeling career.
After speaking with Marcus, I was inspired. He said that fear is an illusion and it only prevents you from moving forward. Very wise words. While there are many things that might be scary, I decided that right now I am going to focus on my own fears.
“Take more risks and see what happens.”
Model Marcus Killebrew is a personal trainer who believes in the power of takings risks and not letting fear stop him from accomplishing his goals. He shared that when he was younger, he used to be bullied and that lifting became a type of therapy for him. It helped him build up his confidence. Through his experience as a personal trainer, he is constantly tring to help others break through their fear and anxiety.
Marcus’s top goal is to grow himself into a strong brand for both (1) his modeling career and (2) as a coach. He shared that some of challenges he’s faced as a model has been trying to better understand the business side of the modeling world and adopting to all of the politics. Even through all of the challenges, he is always trying to learn and grow from his experience.
Marcus likes to hang out in the comfort of his own home. You can find him watching an episode of Game of Thrones or playing some video games. When he goes out, he likes to check out the different eateries and dessert spots which NYC has to offer. One of his most recently discovered places is Tipsy Scoop, which serves ice cream with a boozy twist. Cheers!
Fun Facts about Marcus:
His favorite weight training exercise is the deadlift.
If he could be a fruit or vegetable, he would be a raspberry because it is both sweet and tart.
Rush Hour 2 and The Matrix are his favorite movies.
Marcus modeled for the PLITZS Fashion Marketing and for the Unique Blend Models fashion show.
Fall is my favorite season! I love watching Halloween inspired makeup tutorials and videos. I love looking at how beautiful the trees look wearing their new autumn colors. And most of all… I love tasting homemade pumpkin pies. Yummm!
So in honor of my favorite season, model Rebecca Sorkin shared her fall 2017 bucket list with us! Here it is:
Apple picking – You are the apple of my eye
Watching Halloween movies – Netflix & chill
Trying out fall makeup looks – Hello gorgeous!
Watching football games – Sunday night football
Baking – Whisk me away
So far, I’ve done 2 out of the 5 items on Rebecca’s bucket list. I went apple picking with Josh, my boyfriend at Dr. Davies Farm and we had a blast! We went from tree to tree looking for the best apples. As for the watching Halloween movies bucket list item – I think my one scary movie experience is enough for me. Josh dragged me to see the new IT movie at a drive-in movie theater. During the movie, I noticed something in the corner of my eye and when I turned my head, IT was standing outside my car window holding a red balloon! I was so scared. Even when the movie was over and guy who dressed up as IT was long gone, I couldn’t get myself to step outside of the car!
Do you have a fall bucket list? Have you done any of these things on Rebecca’s bucket list?! Let me know in the comments below!
