FUNARI’s Debut in Paris: Exclusive Interview with Designer Janelle Funari

Fashion Dog: Masha

Ooh là là! When I think of Paris, I think of elegance, romance and a little bit of spice. That is exactly what FUNARI brought to the runway. FUNARI’s Spring 2024 collection is hot and steamy. From hand painted jackets to luxious lingerie, it was the perfect way to debut the unique collection, the Ethereal Deep Dream. What an ethereal collection it is!

There is something magical about debuting in Paris. Janelle Funari’s collection blends elegance and romance with a touch of edginess. Just like its name, the Ethereal Deep Dream, the collection brings together comfortable corsets styles paired with flowering ruffle skirts, vegan leather jackets and a fashion pet. Did I mention each outfit comes with an adorable yet chic matching outfit for your pet?!

Watch the interview here:

I’ve been following FUNARI’s collections ever since I saw her back in New York at Couture Fashion Week. The FUNARI brand has always had a soft spot in my heart. After I saw the fashion dogs walk the runway with the models, I was hooked. It was so revolutionary. I had never seen a fashion show with fashion dogs! Now, I always look forward to seeing what matching outfits FUNARI has in store. You may already know this about me – I love matching outfits.

Janelle’s debut isn’t just about making a fashion statement, it’s about making a difference with comfortable Eco-Couture. You can wear fashion that is eco-friendly, comfortable and fashionable. The collection uses eco-friendly fibers that is both breathable and sustainable. With her New York roots, FUNARI knows how important functionality can be. She teamed up with artist Jodi DeCrenza, who hand painted abstract artwork on FUNARI’s vegan leather jackets. If you were wondering… Yes, the jackets are waterproof!

I just had to know what was it like to do Paris Fashion Week! Maxine is one of the most stylish fashion dogs I’ve ever met. As you may know, she is no stranger to the runway. I have seen her modeling on the runway back when FUNARI first caught my attention years ago. So I had to know – how did Maxine like Paris?! Luckily for us, we got an exclusive interview with Janelle Funari and Maxine.

A special thank you to Janelle Funari for the amazing interview.

I would also like to give a special thank you to Jennifer McGaughey who helped me bring this blog post to life.

Love always,

FUNARI had many surprises up her hand painted jacket. She made history when model Monica Myers was one of the first models with Down Syndrome to walk the Parisian runway.
